Welcome to the EON Sales Agency information page. Below, we have laid out some detail that covers the what, how, when and where associated with holding an EON Agency.

Please read the information carefully and if you have additional questions not covered here, please send them to us in writing. We won't respond to questions telephonically, so if you call us with a question, we will ask you to send it to us in writing.

  • Have a minimum of 3 years verifiable sales experience (In the events industry would be an advantage)
  • Are a self-starter and have an energy and drive that will not accept failure.
  • Consider targets and commission driven earnings as the only way of life.
  • Like the idea of working for yourself.
  • Are based in greater Johannesburg.

We want to appoint an additional EON Sales Agency, and if you satisfy the 6 points above, then this may be your opportunity to become an EON Agent and join a small but innovative team selling a well known and established brand operating in the Events Industry.

   

Who or what is EON?

The establishment of The Event Organisers Network (EON) began in 2003 with the launch of the Africa Conference Directory, a publication that became known as the bible on conference and event venues and services.

Today,

  • We own and host the only Business Events Showcases in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban annually.
  • Have launched the industry's first Event Resources mobile and web App for event buyers.
  • We have a database of over 7000 subscribed event organiser members.
  • We focus on providing products, tools, resources and experiences designed to enhance business outcomes between event industry vendors and event organisers.

What is expected of an EON Agent

  • As an EON Agent, your primary task is to sell (ie close deals) the EON portfolio of products designed to create a business interaction between vendors (Venues & Event services) and buyers (Event Organisers)
  • There will be a minimum monthly and average annual revenue target.
  • You will also be involved in the planning and execution of the three Business Events Showcase events along with the full EON team.
  • You will also be required to manage administrative and marketing tasks.
  • You must be prepared to travel and be away from home for up to a week if necessary.
  • You will be required to attend select weekend away Venue Experiences at top venues around the country.
 
 

What do you need to become an EON Agent

  • You must be based in greater Johannesburg.
  • You will require to have your own office/home-office infrastructure which must have
    • Internet connectivity (Fibre (recommended) or minimum ADSL
  • You must have your own laptop with
    • MS Office 2016 (Minumum MS Office 2013)
    • Skype for weekly meetings and other business interactions.
  • You must be computer literate and comfortable with working in a digital online environment.
  • You must have your own mobile phone.
  • We will provide an internet phone and mobile app for business calls.
  • You must have your own car.

Agency Earnings

  • Typical EON Agency earnings are comprised of a monthly Admin Function Fee plus commission on sales at 15% of the sales value. (T's and C's apply).
  • The bulk of the Agency revenue is commission earnings with the Admin Function Fee making up a lesser contribution to earnings.
  • Commission payments to the Agency are made monthly in arrears based on collected banked revenue from Agency Sales.
  • In addition to the Admin Function Fee, there is a nominal once off monthly contribution for mobile data, mobile airtime and fuel.
  • All authorised costs incurred on behalf of EON will be reimbursed at the end of each month.
 
 

What EON Provides

  • Centralised marketing support functions. (Email, facebook etc)
  • All accounting, invoicing and debt collecting functions.
  • Branding, graphic design, web, mobile app and global administration.
  • An internet phone system that can be used via desk and mobile platforms, ie business calls are paid for by EON.
  • Email and Google cloud account for document sharing etc.
  • Online CRM system.
  • Online task/project management system.

Advantages

  • The Agency can be held by a sole trader (private individual) company or CC.
  • The Agency will invoice EON for all earnings based on commissions earned, including the Admin Function Fee.
  • Consequently, no tax is deducted from the amounts.
  • You will be responsible for your own tax and can potentially claim certain costs against income. (Check with your tax or business advisor)
